Visas and migration
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) processes all visa applications for people visiting or migrating to Australia. At the Australian Embassy Bangkok, the Visa and Immigration Office handles visa and citizenship applications in Thailand.
All visitors to Australia, except citizens of Australia and New Zealand, will need to obtain a visa before travel.

Australian Visa Application Centre
Visa applications, except for Refugee and Humanitarian Entry, may be lodged at the Australian Visa Application Centre operated by VFS (Thailand) Ltd. A fee will be charged for this service in addition to the scheduled fee charged by the Australian Embassy for all visa applications. New Service
Any applicant wishing to personally speak with an Immigration Officer about their Family migration visa application may do so by visiting the Visa Application Centre between 14:00 and 16:00 hrs each working Thursday of the week. Staff from the Visa and Immigration Office of the Australian Embassy Bangkok will be available to address queries and meet with applicants wishing to lodge migration visa application at the Australian Visa Application Centre. Enquiries regarding non-Family visa applications should be directed to the general phone enquiry line or the email box.

If you are planning to adopt a child overseas, please be aware that the Australian Embassy Visa and Immigration Section cannot give advice or information on adoption requirements or the adoption process in Thailand (or any other country).

Migration processing - Pakistan
All partner and family migration applications from clients who live in Pakistan (with the exception of Afghani nationals) are processed by the Australian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand.
